Charity Update: Coronavirus

A message from Founder & CEO, Craig Pankhurst.

Firstly and most importantly, I hope you are all keeping as well as possible during this very challenging time. It is vital we all take the necessary precautions.

At A Stroke of Luck, we are taking the advice and guidance from the government regarding Coronavirus and are adapting our strategy based on the information we are receiving. As you are aware, our primary aim is to support Stroke Survivors in their life after stroke.

As you will also be aware, we are in the process of building our web-platform to facilitate the interaction between a Survivor and a Fitness Professional. However, with the current guidance of social distancing and isolation, we have made the decision to have an immediate focus on bringing exercise and workouts to your home through our team of experts, and press ‘pause’ on the build of the web-platform. We will continue the build of that when we are able to move back to a more ‘normal’ societal state: when Survivors are able to have one-to-one and group sessions with Fitness Professionals.

To enable our change in focus, we have recruited a team of highly-qualified, experienced, Fitness/Rehabilitation Professionals who will be creating 10-minute exercises and workouts for you to do in the comfort of your own home. These will be in video form and will be available from next week on our website and through our social media channels. Each one of our experts has experience of working with Stroke Survivors. Expect to see varied programmes as we try and cater for a wide range of ability levels.

As Survivors, we have already proved our ability to adapt, to be resilient, and to embrace our new life. As a charity, we are using the these skills to ensure we are providing a solution to support Survivors with physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

We hope that you consider A Stroke of Luck as part of your A-Team, and I am looking forward to seeing Stroke Survivors using these videos.

I wish you, and your loved ones all the very best. And, please keep safe.

Kind regards,
Craig
