Want to Work as a Stroke Rehabilitation Personal Trainer?

Join our growing team of fitness professionals helping stroke survivors through recovery and beyond

Being a fitness professional is about helping people reach their health and fitness goals. Most individuals seeking the guidance of a fitness professional want to improve their general fitness, reduce pain, improve their athletic performance, or lose weight. We have a very special community desperate for your expertise: the A Stroke of Luck Expert’s Club.

Did you know, according to the State of the Nation Stroke statistics authored by Stroke association in February 2018, there are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK with another 100,000 strokes occurring in the UK each year? Over two thirds of these survivors leave hospital with a disability.

So, whilst it would be noble to help, why should I get involved?

The volume of stroke survivors in the UK looking outward for support on their recovery journey is significant. More often than not, this is a hidden population to the fitness industry. Most survivors do not have access to fitness professionals as they do not have the disposable income, and/or their physical impairment causes anxieties resulting in a lack of confidence to go to the gym.

A Stroke of Luck is opening the door to you to increase your client base and become a member of the ‘A Stroke of Luck Expert’s Club’.

Am I who you are looking for?

Are you personable and have empathy?

Would you like to be a huge influence in stroke survivors’ lives positively changing?

Would you like the prestige of supporting those in real need?

Would you like to be A Stroke of Luck Ambassador?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to all of these, then you are exactly the type of personal trainer we are looking for!

How do I become a stroke rehabilitation personal trainer?

This is the easy part to answer! You need to register as a stroke rehabilitation personal trainer using the contact form below. Please just fill it in and we will register your details. By registering, we will be able to send you exciting information on the development of the charity.

In the near future

From early 2020, we will have created a membership portal where you will be able to create your personal trainer profile page (we will be producing a video showing you how to do this). Once your page has been created, you will be able to promote your services and expertise to survivors. You will also be part of the ‘A Stroke of Luck Expert’s Club’. Survivors can then book you for a 1:1 personal training session using their credits.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions can be 30 minutes or one hour in length. The A Stroke of Luck booking system allows the survivor to book either of these durations.

Do I need insurance?

The simple answer is, yes! As a stroke rehabilitation personal trainer, you will already have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. This is sufficient to become a member of the ‘A Stroke of Luck Expert’s Club’.
